We have 2 fantastic news to share with you from Adrian Recordings.
1. We have started a sub label. It is called Double Sun. It will be run by Jocke Lindberg.
2. First release, on Double Sun, will be a 7” vinyl from lo-fi romantics YAST. The release is a collaboration with Stockholm based label Hare Tracks.
All of a sudden, people are talking about Sandviken - a small, sleepy town in the middle of Sweden, formerly known for its steel industry. Rap star 50 Cent chose to perform one of his two European shows in the city. Pitchfork predicts Sandviken’s dream pop act Simian Ghost will take over the world and back in the days the greatest artists of the 60’s, like Jimi Hendrix, did exclusive performances in Sandviken.
Lo-fi romantics YAST started in Sandviken 2007, but moved to Malmö the following year. They were three back then, Carl Jensen, Tobias Widman and Marcus Norberg. In 2010 they got help from Markus Johansson and Niklas Wennerstrand, drummer and bass player in post rock act Aerial.
Together with producer Emil Isaksson the band recorded a few songs in Studio Möllan. Electronica producer Andreas Tilliander mastered the single that will be released by Double Sun and Hare Tracks in February 2012. Double Sun is a new sub label of Adrian Recordings. “Believes” is perfect pop, slightly naive and melodic in the best of ways. It reminds you of lazy days by the shore, of romance and daydreaming. All essential to YAST.
2011-12-21 Two of Adrian’s finest artists is collaborating in a loving duet, celebrating the New Year’s spirit. The track “Nyår” with Emil Jensen & Familjen is now out.
Produced by Sanna Lindström at Rooster Film and directed by Andreas von Kern.
The track is written by Emil Jensen, produced by Familjen and performed by both.
Familjen’s and Emil’s paths have crossed before. Familjen produced Emil’s two first albums and Emil is singing on the chorus of Familjen’s hit “ Det snurrar i min skalle”.

Almost all tracks are released by Adrian Recordings during 2011 and can be bought in the web shop at www.adrianrecordings.com www.adrianrecordings.com or at your favorite digital retailer.
With super hype all year and good remarks on sites like Pitchfork, Simian Ghost is part of what you can call a Swedish wave of chill wave, together with the likes of Niva, Korallreven and Summer Heart etc. During the year Adrian Recordings' MF/MB/ did a great remix of Simian Ghost’s track Bicycle Theme and we’re glad to have Simian Ghost onboard on the 4th Adrian Recordings Advent Sunday Mixtapes 2011.
And what we have here is one of the most ambitious mixtapes ever. It’s mashup heaven and a completely wonderful melting pot on Adrian Recordings 2011. But as always it is also a glimpse in the crystal ball with a unreleased track from Edda Magnason. When Simian Ghost starts off with a sample from a wicked camera recording from when YAST is recording their debut album, we know that we are just here and now. Enjoy!
